The Dodge Charger SRT8 version debuted at the 2005. This is a powerful car with a very serious look and an engine that means business. It roars not to be messed with. Yet by contrast has a very comfortable interior with some very modern add ins. Powered by a 425 hp (317 kW) version of the 6.1 L (370 cu in) Hemi, it also featured upgraded rakes, and interior and exterior updates. The engine for this Dodge Charger SRT8 produces 420 lb·ft (569 N·m) of torque. The 425 net horsepower of the modern 6.1 L Hemi makes it even more powerful than the legendary muscle cars of the 60s and 70s and makes the 6.1 L Hemi engine the most powerful V8 engine that Chrysler has ever put in a production vehicle with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Zero to 60 takes just 4.6 seconds for the Charter SRT8 and moving up to 75 comes up just 1.8 seconds later. As for the sound, The SRT engineers have given this Charger a mighty, throaty roar, and a special "active valve" exhaust system giving a scary roar when maxed.
Onboard telemetry in the gauge cluster allows the driver to measure a variety of performance tests: 0-to-60-mph time, lateral g-force, braking distance, and 1/4-mile time, etc. This surely makes for fun driving. In conclusion value for money but not for the shy. Many heads will turn.
