The Dodge Charger Super Bee was a legendary muscle car that was discontinued at after 1971, but last year it was announced the 2012 Dodge Charger Super Bee, a new version for this important car. We know about this new cart that will have 470 hp with a price that will be around 40000 $.
But the Dodge Charger Super Bee has a long history. The 1968-71 R/T that is now a legendary muscle car made famous by the General Lee in The Dukes Of Hazard, and also in Bullitt and the Fast and Furious was a fast car and the original muscle car and one which had an interesting and unique variation to its line up. The Super Bee.
In 1968, the Chrysler Corporation unveiled a new advertisemnet campaign featuring a Bee with an engine on its back trhat attracted a lot of attention. These cars were called the "Scat Pack". The Coronet R/T, Super Bee, Dart GTS and Charger R/T received bumble-bee stripes that were really two thin stripes that framed two thick stripes at the back. The stripes were standard on the R/Ts and came in red, white or black. Additionally, they could be deleted at no cost to the customer. In the 1968 model year the Charger sales increased to 96,100, including over 17,000 Charger R/Ts.
